Watercolour on paper, no date (late 18th, early nineteenth century). Hand painted copy of an illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh (1751-1815). In his 'Flora indica' Roxburgh describes this plant as an elegant, straight and sub-verticelled tree, which is found in every part of India. It flowers in February and ripens the seed in May.
