Original illustration from Curtiss Botanical Magazine, published as plate 6060, 1st October 1873. Watercolour and pencil on paper. The specimen figured was raised from seeds brought from Morocco and cultivated at Kew and in Mr Maws garden. It is described as a common plant about Magador, extending as far south as Agadir. It was also found on the island of Lanzarote, one of the Canaries
