Oil on paper by Marianne North, 1882. Many of the Acacias are formidably armed with spines, but perhaps none more so than Acacia horrida, Willd. the Doornboom or Thorn Tree of South Africa. Beyond the Thorn trees and Huts is a Dutch farm, and the Perie Bush; the scene being near King Williams Town
