Hand-coloured engraving by unknown artist was published in Curtis's Botanical Magazine, Vol. 43, Plate 1548, in 1813. Illustration is made with watercolour and pencil on paper. Family name of plant is Asclepiadaceae. Curtis's Botanical Magazine is the longest running botanical periodical featuring colour illustrations of plants and has been published continuously since 1787.
