Watercolour on paper, no date (late 18th, early 19th century). Hand painted copy of an illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh (1751-1815). In his Flora Indica, Roxburgh describes this species as a quickly growing, useful and beautiful tree. Roxburgh also notes that he received seeds of this species from Bencoolen, in Sumatra, by Dr C. Campbell in 1800, and that the plants reared from them, flowered for the first time in August 1801, and ripened their seed in April 1802
